i think this would be a great idea. it wouldnt be making the park a lot smaller, and all the dogs that play down there wouldnt end up leaving smelly! and your right, for health reasons it would be better too. let me know when/if you plan on doing ...

new fence/move fence

about 10 days ago I installed a temporary plastic fence down in the bottom section of the dog park. it seems to be keeping the dogs out of the smelly mucky water at the bottom. now it would seem a better idea to move the main fence in about 20 ft to avoid the low muck as it smells and looks like sewer drainoff from a septic system which cant be health for the dogs not to mention the breeding ground for mosquitios.

Hey Ken I just wanted to give you a heads up. I had Max at the park on Sat. We were alone until Sundance showed up. He came in and went right after max. Max was whimpering for a min. after so I know Sundance hurt him but luckily he didn't do any damage. The owner was good about it and I don't have any issue with the way he handled it. We tried to get them together again but Sundance went after him again, he was held back so he never made contact. I just wanted to give you a heads up so you can keep an eye on Sundance if he shows up while you are there.

Thanks, Ken. I lost my big baby a few weeks ago and we really limited our types of walks during the summer. I will try and stop by more as we tend to get to Mohegan for a good hour walk off-leash. With it getting darker - it is not always easy to get to the park before 5:30-5:45 ..and by then everyone is getting ready to leave....Thanks for the note and look forward to seeing everyone soon.

Hi Ken - Thank you so much for putting up that fencing. With all the rain we've had lately, the building up of residual water has been more than usual.
Please be assured that this water, although not smelling that great, is not sewage. The town has had the area tested and it is nothing but decomposing natural material.
When we built the dog park, a lot of trees were taken down and wood chipped into the area. When we have increased rain activity, like this whole season it seems, the water collects and the trees decompose faster creating that mucky meck.
It's good to keep the dogs out of this area. TDOG also has temporary fencing that we used another time during heavy rains. I wasn't aware that it had gotten that bad. I really, really appreciate you putting the fencing up for us.
Please don't hesitate to contact us at trumbulldogpark@yahoo.com at any time!
