DURING THIS VERY WARM WEATHER, PLEASE BE SURE TO BRING PLENTY OF COOL WATER FOR YOUR DOG. Please clean up your water bottles when you leave. I've been taking gallon jugs out of the dog park because people just leave them there. Please help to take care of our dog park. Thank you.
Please be assured that the wet areas are nothing but decaying wood chips and water- decomposing natural matter. . Although, it does tend to stink so you don't want your dog rolling in it. Hopefully we'll see some drier weather soon and this area will take care of itself and dry up.
Any questions or concerns. please don't hesitate to email me.

Dog Park Directions:
DIRECTIONS TO THE DOG PARK: Main Street (Rt 111) north, take a right onto Whitney Avenue by Luigi's Bakery. Follow Whitney Ave until you see the sign for Indian Ledge Park on the right hand side. Take a right into Indian Ledge Park. Go up the hill, past the children's playground and water park area, until you reach a parking lot on your right hand side. Take a right into the parkling lot and go to the end; the dog park is on your right. Trumbull Resident vehicle sticker is required to enter the park. Stickers can be obtained at the Recreation Department.
Non-Trumbull Residents: Town of Trumbull Parks & Recreation rules require that you have a Trumull Resident sticker on your vehicle in order to access any Trumbull Park. If you are not a Trumbull resident, you cannot get the sticker. If you do not have the Trumbull Resident sticker and you park in a Trumbull park, you risk getting a $25 fine. My suggestion: Make friends with a Trumbull resident and car pool!

When your dog isn’t behaving the way you want, it’s important to correct, and not punish him. You may think you’re giving him a “time out,” but all he knows is that you made him sit in the corner for five minutes. Unlike a child, they don’t connect the “punishment” to the bad [...]
Obsession is a trait that I usually see in dogs who are bored. They become frustrated because they sit behind walls all day and have nothing to do. The only way they know how to release that frustration is to find something that attracts them and to fixate on it.

Many people want to adopt powerful breeds, but they usually don’t know what they are getting themselves into. When you hear the sad story of a dog’s past, it’s easy to have a sense of pity. One of the best things offered here in the United States is the ability to volunteer at [...]
Structure shouldn’t mean no fun. Having fun with structure is the ideal way of living, especially for a dog. Dogs are creatures of habit, but that doesn’t mean they want the same thing everyday; they need to be challenged. Dogs see rules, boundaries, and limitations as a formula for balance, but just [...]
Sometimes we let our entire house go to the dogs, so to speak, and if that’s the case, we need to claim it back. There are many tell-tale signs that your dog has become King of the Castle, but often the most telling is when your dog won’t let your guests come in to [...]
